Kandinsky

Vasili Kandinsky, born in Moscow in 1866, is known as one of the pioneers of abstract art. Initially influenced by impressionism and symbolism, his style evolved towards pure abstraction where form and color became absolute protagonists. In 1911, he co-founded the group Der Blaue Reiter with Franz Marc, seeking to express emotions and spirituality through art. His work "Composition VII" is a masterful example of his ability to combine color and form into a visual symphony.

Vasili firmly believed in the theory of synesthesia, where colors and forms could evoke specific emotions, similar to music. This revolutionary approach influenced later movements such as abstract expressionism, where artists like Jackson Pollock and Mark Rothko adopted his emphasis on emotional expression. Paul Klee, one of his contemporaries and close friends at the Bauhaus, was also deeply influenced by his theoretical and practical approach to art. Additionally, our beloved Russian artist significantly influenced Piet Mondrian, who took abstraction to new levels with his neoplasticism. Vasili Kandinsky not only transformed abstract art but also established a profound connection between visual art and music, redefining the perception of modern art.
