The painting "Girasoles" (in English, Vase with Fifteen Sunflowers) by Vincent van Gogh, created in 1889 and with serial number F458 (JH1667), is one of the most iconic works of the Dutch artist. Displayed at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, this work belongs to the Impressionist movement, specifically to Post-Impressionism, characterized by its use of vivid colors and distinctive brushstrokes.

Van Gogh painted this series of sunflowers in anticipation of the arrival of his friend Paul Gauguin, with whom he planned to decorate "The Yellow House" in Arles, the same one that was destroyed in a World War II bombing that fell right on Lamartine Square, with the building in the back that can be seen in the painting surviving the attack. The painting shows fifteen vibrant sunflowers in a vase, symbolizing life, energy, and light, recurring elements in Van Gogh's work. This piece not only deeply influenced his contemporary Paul Gauguin, but also left a lasting mark on later artists like Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso.
