Signac

Paul Victor Jules Signac, born on November 11, 1863, and died on August 15, 1935, was a French painter renowned for his crucial role in the development of Pointillism alongside Georges Seurat. Signac was inspired by scientific discoveries about color perception and Chevreul's color theory, meticulously applying them to his painting technique, which influenced the aesthetics of his works. Although initially influenced by Impressionism and figures like Claude Monet, the evolution of his style towards Pointillism marked a new direction in modern art, influencing movements such as Cubism and Futurism. Signac contributed not only through his technical innovations but also through his leadership in the Société des Artistes Indépendants, of which he was president.
